Who Stole Your Joy?

And that’s not a hypothetical question either.

Right now, I want you to think about it — Who stole your joy OR maybe…Who did you WILLING GIVE your joy to by comparing yourself to them?

I had a client meeting today where I stated “ Comparison is the thief of joy.”

Here’s an example:

You know how you’re going along thinking you’re doing well, made good progress toward your goals and then you check social media and see someone else doing “better”???

You know how you’ve just bought yourself a new car, and not necessarily brand new but just new to you, and you’re feeling good? Until you pull up beside someone in a nasty, brand new Mercedes AMG 😲👀😵

Then, you don’t feel that your “new” car is all that great. I mean it’s okay, right?

Nooooooooooooooooo!

Stop doing that to yourself.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

Firstly, you never know the whole story for someone else. You don’t know anything about their journey or the “success” you see. Everything is not always as it appears.

Also, many times people make up stories in their head about who somebody is or what their story is just to make it all make sense for them.
