These 3 Questions Are Stuck In My Head

I ran across a post on LinkedIn where someone gave an account of having a heart attack last year.

When he came to, out of surprise, he was still alive and began to question himself.

He thought:

Did I live?

Did I love?

Did I matter?

Those were the questions he asked himself as if that was his last time to consider the impact and totality of his life.

That had to be scary for him. But I bet it’s now encouraged him to live on purpose.

That statement’s so cliche, I know. But it’s true when you think about those 3 questions and intentionally do things that help you answer those questions without regrets.

  • Did I live?
  • Did I love?
  • Did I matter?

Right now, take a moment to define what “living” means for you. Yes, WRITE IT DOWN.

Next, define what “loving” means for you. What does it feel like? Look like? How do you show it to others?

And finally, define how you want to be remembered and the impact you want to have left on others/the world.

If not anything else, we’ve all learned a few things about what’s really important since we’ve been in this pandemic. And while some have made the conscious decision to live on purpose, others are still apprehensive about it.

Those 3 questions really simplify the phrase “Living on purpose,” but it’s a start and can change the way someone who reads this post decides to live.

Note: There might be typos in this post. Autocorrect on phones can be such a gem 😉
